{"id":1655,"date":"2019-06-19T13:02:26","date_gmt":"2019-06-19T13:02:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wensmedia.com\/ens-on-sales\/?p=1655"},"modified":"2019-06-19T13:02:26","modified_gmt":"2019-06-19T13:02:26","slug":"how-to-upsell-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ensmediausa.com\/ens-on-sales\/uncategorized\/how-to-upsell-more\/","title":{"rendered":"How to \u201cUpsell\u201d More"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 align=\"left\">The most common time to upsell a current client is at renewal time.\u00a0While this is an opportune time to do so, it\u2019s not the only time that we should be looking to upsell.<\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\"><\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\">As media reps, it\u2019s our job to look for opportunities to help our clients grow their business.<\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\"><\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\">The question is why don\u2019t we upsell more?\u00a0We have found there are two primary reasons; one, we\u2019re afraid to ask for the additional dollars while the client is already spending money with us, and two, we don\u2019t have a reason to ask for additional dollars!<\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\"><\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\">The key to overcoming both reasons can be summed up with one word, IDEAS!<\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\"><\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\">All business owners really want from their media rep is \u201cideas\u201d.\u00a0Ideas to help them grow their business. If you can bring a good idea to them, they will spend the money to engage that idea!\u00a0Even if they don\u2019t have the money in their budget, they will find the money if the idea is strong enough!<\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\"><\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\">The ideas can come in the form of a sales event or in-store promotion.\u00a0It can be a great creative idea that will enhance and make their current campaign stronger.\u00a0It can be a cross-promotion with another client or your radio station.\u00a0If it\u2019s an idea that will help them grow their business, present it to them, chances are they will buy it!<\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\"><\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\">One last key to successful upselling is that you don\u2019t just \u201ctell\u201d them the idea, but rather you present it to them in a \u201cformal presentation\u201d.\u00a0Explain your \u201cidea\u201d in detail.\u00a0Lay everything out from beginning to end and show them what the successful outcome looks like.<\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\"><\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\">If you want to upsell more and help your clients more, come up with more \u201cIdeas\u201d!\u00a0 Ideas are the answer to upselling!<\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\"><\/h4>\n<h4 align=\"left\">I love to help come up with ideas, so if you ever need help,\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:rick@ensmediausa.com\" target=\"_blank\">reach out<\/a>\u00a0and let\u2019s talk!<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The most common time to upsell a current client is at renewal time.\u00a0While this is an opportune time to do so, it\u2019s not the only time that we should be looking to upsell.
