{"id":187,"date":"2009-06-04T15:39:55","date_gmt":"2009-06-04T15:39:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wensmedia.com\/\/salesarchive\/permalink\/2009\/6\/4\/113955.html"},"modified":"2009-06-04T15:39:55","modified_gmt":"2009-06-04T15:39:55","slug":"predictions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ensmediausa.com\/ens-on-sales\/uncategorized\/predictions\/","title":{"rendered":"Predictions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span style=\"font-size: 22pt\"><font face=\"Tahoma\">Don&rsquo;t Get Sucked Into the Predictions<\/font><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Tahoma\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; When you hear or read the gloomy predictions about advertising sales futures from agencies or big corporation executives, they are talking about national business.<\/font><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Tahoma\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Executives at the large agency or multi-national corporation level have no idea what&rsquo;s going on with local advertising, especially in the small and medium-sized markets that are below their radar.<\/font><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Tahoma\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Hearing the dire predictions from large agencies and CEO&rsquo;s might lead you to make excuses for local sales as well&hellip;..there are no excuses other than you might have a sales force that doesn&rsquo;t know how to motivate local-direct business.<\/font><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Tahoma\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Those who do understand local-direct, and how to focus on increasing clients sales instead of focusing on dumping more inventory or packages, are doing well!<\/font><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Tahoma\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; You won&rsquo;t hear about those successes because they don&rsquo;t involve nationally-recognized businesses.<\/font><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Tahoma\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; But in case you haven&rsquo;t figured it out, no matter what happens with the economy, when your roof leaks, you&rsquo;ll repair it; when your tooth aches, you&rsquo;ll see a dentist; when your car breaks down, you&rsquo;ll see a mechanic; when you&rsquo;re going through a divorce, you&rsquo;ll see a lawyer, and your funeral can&rsquo;t wait until after the recession.<\/font><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Tahoma\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In the past, retail was the low hanging fruit in our industry, but you and your competitors have already picked all of that. Isn&rsquo;t it time you learned how to speak &lsquo;service sector&rsquo; instead of just &lsquo;retail&rsquo;?<\/font><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Tahoma\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; You have a choice. Use the big national predictions as an excuse for your local-direct failure, or learn how to secure business from the largest and fastest growing sector of our economy, the service sector.<\/font><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><font face=\"Tahoma\">P.S.
